I met a gentle man who loved books,

He was funny, humble, and desired what was important.

A marriage, family, and to serve God.

Little did we know what “I do” really meant

But Terry continues to “do” after almost 30 years.

He cares for me while my RA flares,

He cherishes me by celebrating my wins.

He loves me even when I am unkind

He smiles at my whimsy and

Holds my hand when I am triggered.

Thirty years later, I love a gentle man who still loves books but loves me more.
